This one was considerably better than the second film although I would find it difficult to say it was better then the original. The plot continues straight from the second film almost to the minute, after a short intro we are back with Neo recovering after his encounter with the machines at the end of the second film. There are many answers to ideas brought up in the second film and it really helps to tie up the loose ends of things left unexplained. Giving away the plot would be unfair but there are certain assumptions which can be simply made after watching the other films. Firstly Agent Smith has got into the ‘real’ world disguised as a crew member on another ship, who incidentally was the only survivor of the massacre at the end of the second film where an EMP was suspiciously set off accidentally and gave the machines the edge they needed to win. Therefore the film starts with these two men recovering on a ship.

There are plenty of fights and other martial arts as you would expect although they are now either outrageously weird due to the level Neo has now reached, or very basic in which Neo is not plugged into the matrix and thus has no powers. The action takes place more in the war to save Zion with a huge section of the film devoted outside the matrix itself. Far more detail is put into the actual machines with hundreds of them on scene at any one time (even thousands at some points.) As you would expect Neo has some more powers in this film which seam to extend out of the matrix suggesting the world is not as real as it seams!

One thing which can be said is that the ending to this film certainly concludes the series and I would be surprised if another was even considered as only three films were ever the plan by cast and crew alike. All in all a very good film which is certainly worth seeing.
